SuitSat-1 report, D700 needs to be activated on the ISS (request)
Transmission received on 145.990 +- Doppler over Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
60 degree elevation pass at 13:45UTC. ISS Kepler data used.
Weak FM signal S1-3, Child voice making announcement followed by mail voice.
Strong fading. Recorded pass on the PC.
Setup: HyGain 216SAT 2m antenna, SSB preamp, 60 feet LMR400, FT-847
Bottom line: SuitSat is alive and transmitting, although for unknown reasons
the signal is very weak. Requires a high gain ground setup. Maybe someone
can ask NASA to have the D700 configured for re-transmit on 70cm since
SuitSat is very close and they might hear it much better.
Hope this helps
73, Stefan VE4NSA
