Hello Richard,
the "normal" SatPC32 switches the FT-847 (and other satellite radios) in
Satellite mode. In this mode uplink and downlink frequencies must be in
different bands.
The FT-847 displays "error" in the TX display when the program tries to
switch both VFOs to the same band while in Satellite mode.
Therefore SatPC32 includes the special version "SatPC32ISS" which steers the
radios in non-satellite mode to allow frequency control with in-band
satellites like the ISS.
Unfortunately the present SatPCISS does not support the FT-847. I tried the
same solution that works with the FT-736R to steer both frequencies for
Doppler correction (adjusting of the repeater shift to steer the TX
frequeny), but that cannot be used with the FT-847 because the repeater
shift of this radio can be changed only in mimimum steps of 10 KHz.
But I will upload soon a new version of SatPC32ISS which supports also the
FT-847 and tunes the radio to the exact uplink and downlink frequencies. It
utilizes a solution of Don Woodward, KD4APP.
