I guess I will answer this one here. Yes with Erich's assistance I got
the 7000 working with another Icom TRX, an IC-910 on one comport. If you use
two Icom radio's with Erich's program you simply set different addresses to
the rx and tx in SATPC32. If both radios use similar command sets. the 910
and 7000 do , it will work seamlessly. You tune one TRX and the other one
follows. Only problem I had was that I had to put the 910 in single band
mode, otherwise it would cause SATPC32 some problems, as to who is the main
band, in the 910. But after I figured that out, it worked flawlessly. One
big advantage of the 7000 is it has IF DSP on 2m and 70cm. Also the near
real-time bandscope works well enough so that I could tell the difference
between a CW and phone signal. As previously stated here, this setup would
be the cat's meow on a HEO...
Will this work with different brand radio's, and two comport's? I don't see
why it wouldn't work with any two TRX's and two copies of SATPC32 running,
or Erich's TxController_VB. I have done this with my 847 and 910 also with
no problems.
