$6 Downconverter with 435 MHz IF

Has anyone modified the $6 Downconverter (CalAmp 130215) for use on the S
band to work with a 435 MHz IF?
Based on my humble calculations, it would require a 7.6758 MHz crystal. Am
I on the right track and should this work ok?
Also, I would appreciate any suggestions on web sites that show how to build
S band antennas that would be suitable for handheld operations.
Thanks for any help.
Allen
