SAFIR-S / RUBIN-5: Activation possible

Dear all,

as you may know, there are 2 amateur radio equipped payloads
that are remainingh on the launch adapter: Mozhayetz-5 (RS-25)
and RUBIN-5 / SAFIR-S.

Unfortunately to the failed release of RS-25, the power budget
of a partially covered soar cell for RUBIN-5 is low.
Please be now informed that the configuration for transmissions
of SAFIR-S (as part of the RUBIN-5 experiment carrier) are
enabled - as far as the energy is sufficent.

SAFIR-S is a S-Band beacon (Downlink Only).
The beacon information consists of a 10-15 sec FM speech message,
followed by several transmissions of 9k6 FSK AX.25 packets.
Carrier frequency is 2401,9 MHz, same as for SSETI Express.

Currently, SAFIR-S beacon is activated only following the full hour
within the minutes 10-20, minutes 30-40 and minutes 50-60. For the
other time, SAFIR-S is de-powered!

We haven't received any report ourselfes up to now. We kindly ask
the amateur radio community to have an eye not only to SSETI EXPRESS
and the CubeSats, but also to this additinal amateur radio signal
source.

Details about the status and a technical description are available
on the AATiS-Sat Homepage: http://amend.gmxhome.de.
This site is in german language only for the moment, but it is
planned to add a description in English, too. At least the NEWS
on that site are bi-lingual :-))

Reports should be sent to my mail-adress: DG6BCE@aatis.de
