Re:

There's always SO-50, AO-27, and ISS for V/U FM ops. Or hook that Arrow up to any of the new HF rigs with VHF or UHF SSB (IC706, IC746, FT100, FT817, FT857, FT847, FT897, TS2000, etc...) and listen to the downlink of FO-29, AO-7, or VO-52. Try digital on NO-44, GO-32, or AO-16. Or find someone with a leftover AO-40 downconverter and work AO-51 on V/S with an antenna that fits in the palm of your hand...

Anything you had planned on doing on AO-51 can be done on another satellite during Field Day...except V/S, which is unique. Whatever mode you choose, enjoy it.

The planned AO51 schedule ,VS, for field day, takes a lot of us out of
the activity. We were all set to demo how simple sats are with the arrow
and the handheld. Too bad.....
