Re: Why V/S in stead of U/S

Well I do mode-V/S like this:
FT-847 to 3-element Arrow clamped on my az-el crossboom for V-band uplink.
85cm dish w/ 5-1/4 turn helix feed, MKU-232A2 preamp to unmodified Drake
outputing 435-MHz to FT-847
I put the FT-847 in satellite mode. No big deal.

BTW this is how I work mode-L/S, since I use a DEMI 144/1268 up-converter.

For mode-U/S I used my other Drake with 123-MHz IF output. Both Drakes are
fed by the preamp thru a coax "tee".

Some day I will hook up my Unitrac-2000 and have computer
tuning/tracking....then it will be too easy :-)
