Charlie,

Using HRD for satellite tracking/Doppler is pretty easy.
I am using my FT-857D to control the transmitter only.

You first have to ADD the Satellite uplink frequency you want to use
(I use 435.250) to your favorites. Once there you can choose that frequency 
on the satellite ground control section.
For the keps, edit the kep list in Satellites section to add the following 
site.
http://www.celestrack.com/NORAD/elements/tle-new.txt
Once you add that, you can download keps, and you will find HAMSAT on the 
list. Drag and drop it into the selected box.

That is about it.
