Linear. Theres a good picture of the L/S antenna at http://bach.as.arizona.edu/gallery/ECHO/Lyle_218 .

If you build it LHCP you can always use it on a dish later for P3E and Eagle...

Anyone know what polarisation the S band TX on AO51 is?

I plan to run V/S mode mobile but need to build a roof mounted patch antenna 
of the correct sense.
