Re: FD operation


I, for one, am looking forward to V/S for Field Day...  I think that it will 
definitely thin out the congestion somewhat, by eliminating some of the 
never-operated-a-satellite-before operators attempting to get the ARRL 
100-point satellite bonus, that jam the other FM birds because they haven't 
even tested their setup beforehand and 1) don't know what they are doing, 
and 2) can't hear themselves on the downlink.  Those that want the 
additional QSO points badly enough for more than the 1st satellite contact 
will put in the effort for a multi-mode station.

I have e-mailed contests@arrl.org suggesting that the League also adopt 
AMSAT's 1 QSO per FM satellite rule, but don't know if it could happen for 
this FD.  I would suggest that anyone else who supports this rule change 
also e-mail them and express your feelings.
