According to the news bulletin that was sent out about mode V/S for Field
Day, one can get by with a 3.5 turn helix or patch, no dish needed. You can
test your setup between May 19 and 24, when AO-51 will be in Mode V/S for
just that purpose. I plan on using my K5GNA barbecue grill dish &
downconverter into my HT for the downlink, and my 910H and Gulf Alpha 5x5 2
meter sat antenna for the uplink. Now if only people would limit themselves
to 1 or 2 FD contacts per pass on the FM birds.......
