I didn't even look at anything else... the owner of the local ham store let
me use a 910H for Field Day 2001, and I fell in love with it. Even worked
the ISS that time... had been using the club's 275 and 475H for FD prior to
that, and couldn't believe how much more radio I got than those 2 combined,
in a smaller footprint. Sold my Drake twins and 2 meter transverter, my
Yaesu FT-8100R, and started looking for a used 910... Found one, like new
with main band DSP option installed, on E-bay for $810, although I would
have happily paid more. Built my own CAT interface, tried SatPC32 with it
and loved it, and the rest is history. I can easily throw it in the car
with the laptop and go satellite mobile, or use it for terrestrial VHF and
UHF.
