Re: Mode V/s

The QSOs I made on the last V/S period were with a AIDC D/C with a 2m IF, integrated dipole and a corner reflector fed into an FT-470 HT. Uplink was either my mobile radio, a Alinco DR-605 to a 1/4 wave whip, or another 2m HT to a long rubber duck. The only time I had any interference was running hi power on the mobile. Dropped to 5 watts and problem solved.

Mode V/S is really sweet, and enough of a technical challenge to operate to be interesting to even the most experienced satellite operator, and easy enough for the beginner to try too.

Subject: [amsat-bb] Mode V/s

Hello to the list,

I'm wondering what downconverters are being used for mode V/s on AO-51?

I used a AIDC 3731 with 2 meter IF for AO-40 with great results, but I'm
sure a different IF is required for V/s?

I have a couple of old converters with a 122 MHz IF that I'd like to use or
possibly modify for use with V/s.

Is anyone using this IF for mode V/s? What IF are you using?

As always, any help will be appreciated.
