[amsat-bb] Details on AX.25 and APRS

Would anyone be able to point me towards some specs for a "standard" 
AX.25/APRS physical layer?

I've assumed FSK, and 144.390(or 445.925), but I'm stumped by the coding 
scheme at the moment - does everyone use manchester or NRZ or something 
else?
