[amsat-bb] TS2000 success with 38400 bauds ˇˇˇ

Some weeks ago I resquested to Ulf Kumm (DK9SJ) from SYMEK GmbH in Germany..to
try to adapt and test the IFD board on my TS-2000 in order to work at 38400
bauds the AO-51 satellite as I usually realice in past days with my TS-790 and
also,some years ago on 38400 satellites when there was activity on such
birds..
As you know..SYMEK had developed an IFD board for some transceivers such as:
TS-790,FT-736R,IC-821-H,TR-851E..etc..but not with the TS-2000..

Ulf requested to me my TS-2000 to test it on Germany..and I was agreed.The
transceiver was sent from my QTH at Spain to SYMEK`s home at Stuttgart
(germany) and Ukf and his team began tests on the transceiver..
Today I received this e-mail with the SUCCESS and finally it seems that SYMEK
is on disposal of modify the TS-2000 with an IFD board in order to work 38400
bps satellitesˇˇ.

Just waiting my transceiver arrives to Spain..ˇˇ

Here I attach the e-mail that Ulf sent to me..

" dr OM Antonio,

we installed the IFD in your TS2000 and the results are very good.
It took some time to learn how to do this but we found out that
the TS2000 is well suited to be modified with the IFD.

There was not much space inside the box bot we found a corner where
the IFD exactly fits. Also, we found a suitable way to connect the
additional demodulator output to an unused connector pin.

We did not find any information on how to transmit a 9600 baud FSK
signal with the TS2000. But reception of high speed FSK works now
perfectly.

We are about to make the documents ready and we can ship the TRX
on Saturday or Monday.

Thank you for giveing us your transceiver for testing. Be sure you
have the best tested TS2000 with IFD now!

Now,I request to TS-2000 owners with experiences on 9600 transmisions with
EXTERNAL TNC,s some information about this...
