I have my Windows XP computers setup to display UTC time with a UTC symbol.
For those who are interested, the setup procedure I used follows.
First set the clock to UTC time and turn off the daylight saving time
function.
1) Double Click the time display in the 'Notification Area' (usually on the
right side) of the tool bar.
2) Click the 'Time Zone' tab and turn off (un-check) the 'Automatically
adjust clock for daylight savings changes' box.
3) Click the drop-down menu above the map and select 'GMT Greenwich Mean
Time: Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London'.
4) Click 'OK'.
(if you want you can also setup Internet time synchronization in the
'Internet time' tab)
Now set the format of the time display to display UTC / 24 hour time with
the UTC label in place of the old 'AM/PM' labels.
1. Click 'Start' then 'Control Panel' and double click 'Regional and
Language Options'.
2. Select the 'Regional Options' tab and click the 'Customize' button.
3. Select the 'Time' tab. In the drop-down menu following the 'Time Format'
label, type in "HH:mm:ss ttt".
(note: there are three lower case t's following a space character)
4. In the two drop-down menus following the labels 'AM symbol' and 'PM
symbol' type in 'UTC'. Click 'OK' then 'OK' and close the Control Panel.
The display in the 'Notification Area' on the right side of the tool bar
should now be in 24hr format UTC time.
