Re: Is anyone working on equipment for C-C Rider?

Hi Bob,

I think that you're taking the right approach. I've seen a lot of email on the
AMSAT-BB that assumes digital and analog modes are mutually exclusive. For good
technical reasons space-based and earth-based digital communications have also
taken different paths in the past. High-speed DSP (whoever provides it) has the
flexibility to provide unification with a truely all-mode radio. For example, if
I have a radio for the 23 cm band it should be able to support not only CW, SSB
and NBFM but also ATV and wideband digital modes for satellite and terrestrial
use. Likewise, an ATV repeater occupying 6 MHz should support analog ATV,
high-speed data and any other modes that the users choose.
