Re: Is anyone working on equipment for C-C Rider?

I don't know the details of the current C-C Rider communications protocol, but
terrestrial and space digital radio communication methods are generally are very
different as there are so many objects on earth to reflect, diffract and absorb
the signal. However, the proposed use of DSP on Eagle removes this conflict and
it could also revolutionize earth-based repeaters.

If the amateur community starts using high-speed DSP in home stations and
earth-based repeaters, the same hardware can be programmed with the optimal
modems and protocols for terrestrial and satellite links. DSP could also allow
mixing of analog and digital modes -- allowing everyone to use the mode they
want. With the right software, analog and digital modes could even interoperate.
