Re: Dial-Up vs DSL WAS:AMSAT Journal



I might well be missing something here, but why not have it available
both ways?  Some (many?) people would be able to get it electronically
and save paper (something I'd do), and those who couldn't get it or
didn't want it that way could still get the paper edition.

The electronic edition could be delayed for non-members a month (or
whatever) if it was determined that "giving it away" would be bad.  I
would not agree with that, but delaying its release should address that
problem.

In general, having *everything* in machine-readable form is the way to
go.  Every month more people will have access to it.  Maintaining the
ability to disperse things the older way is still important, at least for
the time being.  But that need should not impact the availability for
others.
