Re: Is anyone working on equipment for C-C Rider?

C-band equipment for ground stations is available from Down East Microwave, SSB
Electronics and Khune Electronic and has been used for terrestrial communication
by hams for 15 years. You can buy off-the-shelf equipment for all amateur bands
up to 47 GHz.

What is new about the C-C Rider concept is the digital transmission mode that
they are developing. Digital modes can provide higher efficiency in satellite
transmitter and the ability to communicate with lower SNR -- supporting more
users for less money. The developers are experimenting with DSP hardware that is
available to the amateur community.

QEX has published a number of articles on high-speed DSP-based transceivers over
the past two years and PC software, boards and kits are available from several
sources. Since its programmable, it can be used for analog and digital modes for
terrestrial and satellite communication. See the November/December issue for my
opinion on high-speed DSP hardware.
