Thanks for this interesting speculation Emily. I'm a user of AO-07 and 
enjoyed reading your possible explanation for the satellites idiosyncratic 
behaviour.

In spite of its age and dead batteries it remains one of the easiest 
satellites to use - especially in Mode B.
