Re: Earthquake amplititudes during 1700UTC pass

I just checked the USGS site and determined that the larger of the two quakes
was a 4.5 occurring at 10:12:06 centered in Parkfield. I logged 10:15:11 when
first felt. The path length is 68 miles so this calculates a propagation speed
of about 1300 mph. The second aftershock as 2.2 which I thought was too weak to
be felt but not so! Both were 6.3 miles underground. Propagation speed again in
the 1300 MPH range. Interesting indeed but rather nerve wracking! Cliff K7RR
