Re: RE: AO7 Mess Tonight

Dave, et al

I appreciate your writing to the list, Dave. I
appreciate your honesty; that's a good spirit of ham
radio and I apologize if I came across "flaming
anyone".

I heard many people "tuning up" using dits all over
the place and two CW CQ's. I was confuised as to
whether they were real contacts or people just messing
around. This was what my question was and my
frustration got the better of me. There's been debate
about other modes on here, so I wasent sure what the
state of consensus was about AO-7 modes.

Dave, I realize that I have trouble getting my power
low enough, so perhaps that was the explanation. Next
time, I'll crank down my power, and try to copy CW
(horribly rusty right now) and make a contact with you

I will strongly disagree with one comment, though,
that this is not the place for such discussion. Given
all the noise I hear on this list, my opinion is, this
is the only kind of discussion that should be on this
list. Ie., technical and operating discussions. So,
how about we just provide save the judgemental
comments for another venue.

I've learned two things, that it's acceptable to use
CW and that there are still hams who want to learn by
admitting their mistakes (at this point, I see it was
mine this time)
