Re: Mast mountable enclosures
I have found that used steel ammo boxes (repainted, of course) work very
well. You can pick up the small size for a couple of dollars and the
larger size for $4 at mil surplus and even with $2 shipping they are still
very cheap, rugged, weatherproof, RF tight, serviceable without tools,
etc. Also if you mount them hinge down, when open on the tower or post
they create a little work shelf that is handy. It is probably a good idea
to bond the top to the shell with a copper braid to ensure RF tightness.
