Roger Barker G4IDE, SK, was the author of amateur radio software
applications WinPack and UI-View (great satellite softwares for Windows).

TAPR recently presented a TAPR Lifetime Achievement Award to Roger, stating
(in part):
TAPR is pleased to award a Lifetime Achievement Award to Roger Barker G4IDE,
of Lincolnshire, UK.   Roger has worked tirelessly for many years to provide
quality software for Amateur Radio operators, allowing them to operate
advanced digital modes without the difficulties once associated with these
operations.

It is with deep regret that I wish to inform everyone that Roger Barker,
G4IDE, passed away peacefully in his sleep during the early hours of
today, 9 September, and is now a silent key.
