Bruce:

Please post on the AMSAT reflector:

œThe Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management Radio Operator™s Group
(EMROG) will be operating a special event station this Saturday, September 11,
2004 at First Colony Mall in Sugar Land, Texas. A special call sign has been
obtained “ W9E (Whisky 9-11). Setup will begin at 8:00 AM in front of JC Penny
with operations scheduled to start at 9:00 AM and conclude at 5:00 PM. We need
as many operators as can make it for this event, it is going to be good
training on the HF band. We do not get many opportunities to work this kind of
traffic. You don't need HF privileges to operate this station on Saturday;
it™s like Field Day only smaller. I expect we will make about 300-400
contacts. If you can make it to the event, please call Dave Scott, WD8RZA at
281 392-0846 or e-mail wd8rza@aol.com with an RSVP.

There will be at least three helicopters, fire and police equipment, extraction
demo and a chili cook-off plus much more, bring the family.œ

Thanks,

Allen R. Brier N5XZ SET
