Here in Europe and probably in the USA the amount of illegal operation on the 10m satellite band is fairly minimal.
However, during my trip to 3B9C I was treated to the huge amount of 29MHz FM operating from China that extends into the satellite sub band. Combined with the taxi drivers between 145.8 and 146 those two bands should probably be avoided for uplinks.
Also interesting to hear the QRM on AO-51 S band on wednesday when the 67Hz CTCSS was turned off.
Best keep to 435 and up.

3) 2m downlnik is not vulnerable to 2m unlicensed QRM
4) 10m uplink is a level playing field because few people
will use high gain beams. So most everyone will use a
comparable antenna and most 10m rigs run similar power.
Actually, I think it would make an ideal LEO transponder
too because of #2, #3 and #4. And becasue we would
be transmitting down at good power from LEO to close
the link to a whip, we might DRIVE AWAY some of those
illegal operators trying to use 145.8 to 145.99 for their
taxi cabs...
