Have a question about the TS2000's built-in modem and PacSat ops. I'm using
my Kenwood with UO-22 and GO-32 and was wondering about the full-duplex or
open squech DCD capabilities while running WiSP.
Apparently, the WiSP software sends a SOFTDCD or full-duplex command that
*seems* to over-ride the DCD sense in the TS2K's TNC because it does work
full-duplex some of the time.
But much of the time during the pass, I have to "trick" the rig into
thinking the satellites carrier signal isn't there to get it to transmit.
WiSP is doing it's job by sending fill requests, but the rig doesn't respond
all the time.
Kenwood gives you a DCD sense choice of either MAIN&SUB band or TNC-band --
in other words, as far as I can tell, it doesn't have a full-duplex open
squelch menu setting other than the SOFTDCD command ( thanks WB4APR ).
Is there anyone out there using the TS2000's built-in TNC on PacSats with
the same problem? Are there other TNC commands that might solve this
problem?
