day a month?) set aside for portable, mobile and QRP sat-operation?

The idea may encourage new hams that don't have the "best" equipped stations
to get more involved with sattellites knowing that on that day, there would
be a more level playing field. Not every ham interested in satellite work
starts off with a $2000 all-mode and directional antennas.
Heck, if this catches on, it may even encourage young hams to try their luck
on FM Sats with those new HT's they got last Christmas that are probably
collecting dust by now. I think it's important to do what it takes to
encourage experimentation and keep ham radio alive.
"Weak signal day" may not accomplish anything, but I doubt it would hurt
anyone -- do you?
