EN57, EN-67 and others on the air next weekend

In light of the recent QRP discussions here on the 'BB, I'd like to announce
that we will be making our annual trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan
for Internaltional Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend, which is August 21 and
22. Our destination will be Eagle Harbor, Michigan, which is in EN-57. EN-67
literally a 15-minute drive to the east, and we will put that grid on the
air
if people need it.

We will once again attempt to get on AO-27, SO-50 and AO-51, using
two HTs (one for tx, one for rx) and an Arrow antenna. For last year's
operation, only SO-50 was activated. It was the only FM satellite available
and with the congestion, getting a signal into it was almost impossible.
Therefore that operation was cut short.

Our drive from Detroit to Eagle Harbor will take us through EN-83, EN-74,
EN-75, EN-76, EN-66 and EN-56. If you need these grids, please e-mail me
direct and we can set up a schedule.

Our callsign in Eagle Harbor (EN-57) will be K8E. In any other grid, we will
be operating as N8MR.

If you want to QSL, please send us an envelope large enough to enclose a
post card - a #10 "business size" envelope (or larger) will be great. If you
send us a #10 or larger envelope, we will, upon request, also send you a
certificate for each grid worked. QSL to N8MR direct or via the bureau.

73,
Mike, N8MR
