Don't know about the VX-1 but I just found that I can
set my (until now) largely unused VX-2 to have a
single memory channel dedicated to AO-51 where the
transmit frequency is fixed but the receive frequency
is tunable.

Great reception on last 2 passes (39 deg and 33 deg
el) using a 12" dual band whip on the VX-2. Heard PH,
ON, DK, I and F. Bird is still a bit too busy for me
to get in with my 1 watt to the whip. Some good
operating practice heard from PH, ON and DK so have
good hopes for getting through later.
