Many thanks to all those who spent many months contributing to Echo.
It's a fine satellite and works well when the 'lids' learn to use it
properly. If it did not have the 67Hz tone, then they would be moaning about
the interference from the taxi drivers etc breaking through.
In time when the novelty of a decent fm satellite again has worn off, we
will all be able to get in, high power, low power and even a long 'rubber
duck'.
Its success can be measured in the amount of hot air generated on the
bulletin board. To those who say forget fm, use the analogue satellites,
where were you yesterday?. FO29 came across Europe immediately after Echo.
On a typical pass there were less than 6 people on the bird, what a waste of
bandwidth. I assume that over the U.S./Canada the satellite is full,
although that's not my experience on Transantlantic passes.
AGAIN, WELL DONE AMSAT, I'm pleased, even if nobody else is.
Regards
Mike G3LGR
