ao51 what a disappointment????

I have now listened to AO-51 and just as I expected, it is just like SO50
and I can not enjoy it because of the tone access.

I have a TS2000x and the Unitrac tracking system with the newest Unitrac
software.

The Unitrac is suppose to send a tone to the satellite, but it doesn't seem
to work.

I have send several emails to the author of Unitrac but as yet have not
received any answers.

I then just set up for split operation like some have suggested and still
no luck.

I have no idea why tone access has been used on SO-50 and now AO-51.

One thing I am sure of is that I can't use these satellites because of the
tone access.

If this is going to be the standard for the future satellites then I will
have no other choice but to give up satellites all together after 32 years
of sat ops.

This is very irritating to me since I have used the same basic equipment to
access all analog satellites since AO-6, but now can't access these new
satellites just because of the tone access.

How will Amsat ever attract more satellite users if the newer satellites
are more difficult to work or require buying new equipment to be
successful??

If there is anyone out there that is using the TS-2000 and Unitac
successfully on SO-50 and AO-51, I would sure like to know how you are set
up???
