AMSAT-UK 2004 Colloquium - Jul 30 - 1 Aug

AMSAT-UK are holding a Colloquium at the
Univerisity of Surrey, Guildford, from Friday 30th
July to Sunday 1st August.

This International Annual Event attracts Radio
Amateurs and Satellite Builders from around the globe.

Professor Colin Pillinger will be attending on the
Friday to give a presentation on the Beagle 2 Mars
probe. There will be guided tours of the Surrey
Space Centre and weather permitting a demonstration
of a Solar Thermal Propulsion System.

On the Saturday there will be special "Beginners
Sessions" run by Howard Long G6LVB aimed at those
wishing to get into the fascinating world of Amateur
Satellite Communications.

The RSGB GB4FUN van which is equipped with a complete
satellite station will be onsite throughout the
event. There will also be microwave test facilities
and an antenna testing range available. The GEO group
will be running demonstrations of weather satellite
image decoding.

The University is within reach of both London-Heathrow
and  London-Gatwick airports, has good road access (A3)
and is next to Guildford Railway station.

Either 1 day passes or full 3 day packages with on-site
accommodation are available.
