Hi
I am interested in hearing about what equipment people are using
to receive the 9k6 telemetry with.
I am using a IC-706MK2 with a KPC 9612 plus and a 8 element yagi fed
with 15 meters of 9913 coax it is pointed manually. The received signal
is still not that very strong.
I have a program that works out simple path losses and you find it
aggress with what I am seeing from the bird some people that are not
coping the sat I think the problem is not enough gain in their antennas
plus probably to many losses in coax etc.
Frequency MHz Distance KM Ant gain dB Power dBm Coax Loss dB
435 1500 0 28 2
Total Loss in dBm
-122.2916103
As you see things get very marginal and with the sat over head a lot of
antennas don't have a good capture. Below is some of the data I have
captured.
