Re: AO-51 :( what's going on?

A simple question that can be met with a simple answer.

no one is asking the command team to take time away from the commissioning
process to explain what is going on, but surely AMSAT has a leg man to
follow up on some of the details, and processes and keep the rest of us
informed.

if tx'ers are going to be shut off then there is no need for one to waste
time in tracking the satellite if there is no tlm data to be copied.

and if copying tlm data is part of our job to help commission the satellite
so it can be opened for general use by all, then we also need to be in the
loop.

1. yes we all know it takes time.
2. and yes one cant be there for every pass. no dought.
3. coffee just make you twitch.

still looking for someone in the know..........

| Wasn't there news (ANS) about the commissioning on Tuesday? An Echo Junkie
| even before it is open for use :-).
|
| If my work in sensors has taught me anything, (1) Some tests take time,
| especially when the device is avialable for brief periods of time. (2)
| Sometimes the fellow you are working with is only available at certain
| times, further reducing the time you get to perform tests. (3) Sometimes
| you have to sit back with a cup of coffee and relax.
|
| Have some ice tea and chill during these hot summer months. Hydration is
| important. We already
| have alot of info on the sat - nice voice and digital TX, nice orbit - and
| so far they have only asked for the TLM.
| If you don't hear it, perhaps they turned it off/low power for a test or
| to save
| power. Tuesday's ANS says as much.
