[amsat-bb] Kenwood TS-2000 or TS-2000X?

Is there a compelling reason to purchase the TS-2000X for satellite use?
Would external equipment offer better coverage of 23 cm if that is desired?

I'm a satellite novice, so any input would be valuable.
