I am certain.  With a noise figure over 5 dB for the IC706MkiiG at 70
cm (and I am being generous) and  cable loss of 8X at 435 being 9 dB
per hundred foot, I am certain that the system noise figure is on the way
high side of 10 dB.   DEAF.   And to use a ground plane vertical means
that though you will be 90% efficient on the vertical (elevated radials
and little ground loss), you have a big null up, when the satellite is
at closest approach.

50' of high loss coax...I'm not sure you will hear anything, especially with
the power often turned down quite a bit.
