Make sure your D7 is in "packet" mode, not "aprs packet". You can tell
....if "packet" shows on the D7, you're in the right mode...external
connection mode.

>From a terminal program, 9600 8,N,1 settings.

Issue the following commands:

KISS ON <hit enter>
RESTART <hit enter>

Quit the terminal program.

Bring up Tlmecho (configure it for 9600 before starting it), I left the tnc
as default, it shouldn't matter.

Turn the D7 off an on, will restore the tnc to "normal" instead of kiss.
