Re: Re: ECHO and Kenwood TH-D7A(G)

Yes it does. From a terminal program, verify that you have a command prompt
coming back from the D7A(g) (9600 baud, 8,N,1) then send the command:

KISS ON

Then send command RESTART (not RESET).

Close terminal program, open the ECHO TLM program on the same com port and
it should work. Don't have the terminal program open and talking to the D7
and try to run the TLM decoder....both cannot have access to the same com
port at the same time. When finished, turn D7 off and then on, it will exit
kiss mode and go back to command mode.

Now...the KISS implementation in the D7 is TERRIBLE...it can be overun
easily, but you should start copying telemetry. It may only work for a short
period of time, but it will work.

Haven't tried it yet, but same approach should work for the D700, except
it's KISS implementation works better than the D7...still not perfect, but
it works well enough that you can run UI-View32 APRS program with the D700
in KISS, while you cannnot reliably do the same with a D7 in KISS.
