Hi Freeman,

The NTE website (www.nteinc.com) will get you a cross to all the common
semiconductors.  You can actually download the cross reference but it is
probably just as easy to use it on line.  The 2SC509Y crosses to a
NTE289A.  You can usually find NTE products at local distributors who
serve the TV repair industry.  Several mail order houses (including MCM)
carry the line also.
