Freeman,

    A couple of thoughts, take them for what they are worth.  I've had great
luck with muffler clamps from the auto parts store, especially if I put some
of that "no slip tape" on the boom where the U-bolt/muffler clamp attaches.
I'm talking about the sand paper tape they make to put on stairs that get
slippery.  The Yaesu U-bolts are surprisingly small gage.  They fit clear
down in the grooves on the back of the rotor tabs.  I'm sure Yaesu would be
happy to sell you some.  I believe the ones sold for the 550 EL rotor would
be an exact match.
