The only mw ham band is the 160m band.  1.8-2.0 MHz.  It is not allocated for satellite uplinks or downlinks.  A mw satellite would surely have VERY inefficient antennas.  The noise level tends to be very high, and mw signals don't penetrate the ionosphere reliably at night.

Or are you talking about something other than "medium wave"?    ;-)
