Re: 100BaseT Woes

Hi Emily,

For what it is worth, I have the same Linksys router less than
10 feet from my ft-847 and it is connected to a network
with 4 PCs and an 802.11 base station using unshielded
CAT-5 cable.

I cannot detect even the faintest signal from the Linksys
boxes around 145.800 MHz on my 2-meter antenna. A couple
suggestions; Are you really sure it is the Linksys box and
not the cable modem? If you leave the CAT-5 connected but
pull the power on the router, does the signal remain?
Are you using 9913 or LMR-400 or some other double-shielded
coax to the radio? This is a big help in keeping out unwanted
noise.

Best of luck and 73,
Tony AA2TX
