Re: 100BaseT Woes
Emily,
I use the same model router in my radio room. My internet service provided
me with cat-5 (unshielded 6-foot cables to use with it and the DSL modem).
I am also using linksys LAN cards 100baseT in two computers in the same
room. My FT-847 doesnot seem to be picking up RFI on VHF from the network.
I have not explored the UHF or HF spectrum thoroughly so cannot comment
there. I had considered shielded cat-5 cable and am assured it exists. I
specifically checked the satellite freqs and my eme band.
One thing in my favor is the use of good quality 8jk phone lead-in and I
installed the ground rod at my power/teleco terminal boxes! The original
ground rod had corroded in half!
