Journal...doing things a different way

As someone says if we want to be in 21th century we should adapt and be ready to do things different ways.
Resistance to any changes grow with age...
Point -1
I read my newspaper via PDF format that i downloaded from my newspaper site at 4$ per week...a deal I can
copy it on my Lab top or even read it at work.
Point-2

Its not what i see when i interpret the financial statements but as i stated i cannot ventilate i don't have
the financial results on any AGM. When i wrote "making the right choices" its exactly what i mean doing
things a different way. As sound planners BOD can skip AGW for one year and capitalize funds for a satellite
project. It is good to have an education mission but without any satellite in space we spin off on ice.
Again doing things different ways.
Point-3
I was also treasurer for our local ham club (VE2CBS) we have limited funds. all our reserve is in term
certificate one to five year term at rates from 2% to 4,75% we also go throught the same economy but WE DONT
LOOSE A CENT in the last trouble 4 years. Yes i know inflation chew a good part of our interest but we SECURE
our capital. There is a difference in managing personnal portfolio and managing non profit organisation. One
thing is sure the 50000$ loss in sale of securities represents 2000 X25$ echo donations...
I know the standard economic moto "long term investment will always bring good results" i repeat that since 4
years to my clients...But when your needs demands urgent funding you should take the market value.
Here we prefer a prudent aproach we prefer to sacrifice on earnings to be able to have acces to 100% of our
capital at any moment.
I posted my comments without blaming anyone but only to tell we can do things a different way period. I'm
sorry to note your reaction but i think you feel concern (You mean I shouldn't have cut our losses?) not at
all but without second guessing you we don't suffer the same way here. I cannot evaluate your porfolio and
the chances of recovery on your stock's but if i can give you an advice selling stock's in an expanding
market prove that we should not be there at the first place and the chances of any recovery should be so slim
that any sales should be the last mean to minimized any losses.
Again i know also the general theory of diversification but managing non profit organisation portfolio should
be made with a capital protection in first place. It is another way to see things and nobody can blame you
about your actions. What about futur only you and BOD will tell and i'm only giving you a FREE advice no
commission here...
