Hi,
Two years ago AMSAT-UK did a survey of it's membership on what medium they
preferred.
The general concensus was that they preferred a paper medium. It was the
receipt of the magazine every two months that was a tangible recognision
membership of the organisation.
I sit on both sides on the pond as A-UK Oscar News Editor and an ANS Editor,
so I do both formats.
We have even debated using the Internet as the sole source of Info,
considering the amount of plagiarism (and friendly rivalry amongst the
editors) that exists. However, each AMSAT organisation to some extent
unique..
As far as I'm concerned, I like to get the paper in my hand (see second
paragraph), I know some of our membership would like it as a PDF on CD or in
an archive. With my ANS hat on, I like to deliver timely information.
So where do we go from here?
A general repository? If so who's going to maintain it?
A country / language / region specific repository? Same question...
Hmm... a multi-lingual web site.
73's
Dave
