Nope! There are tons of us out here, but the REAL COMMUNICATORS communicate
on the real satellites! Unfortunately we only have two at the present time
O7 and O40.
One can easily see that the ONLY communications the other users have is the
reflector. Quite obviously, they are unable to have any real
communications on what is left...It is all done on here!! Take a look at
the frequent users in the archives, and read those messages, if there are
any doubts...
I got on the first FM voice (read 2-user bird) satellite we had, and was
promptly chewed out by some johnny-come-lately because I was actually
holding a conversation!! I listened for a few other pssses. and after
hearing all the ridiculous interference problems, that resulted in nothing
but bickering, I never touched them again except for the digital ones....
I guess when I got into amateur radio 53 years ago I got into the bad habit
of actually holding converstions, real communications. And I still really
enjoy doing that today when possible....But of course we had to then, no
reflectors!!
I'm sure the digital portion of Echo will be good, I'm looking forward to
that...
One of the appeals for Echo funds, can't remember where I read it, is
tantamount to a threat, saying that if we don't contribute to Echo, Eagle
will never get launched...that won't get a nickel out of me..
What happens to the donations that are earmarked for Eagle?? Who gets those??

Disagree: I learn....
