AO-7,VKs & Night.

It being summer here in the South. I checked what the eclipses are like for
AO-7 whilst I was playing with the new version of SatPC32, and I noticed
that all of the evening passes for AO-7 are shown as being "sat in sun". So
being curious I got on at 23:30 local time and there was the beacon on 2m
and I put out a few calls on Mode B, but no one was around to answer.
So just because the sun has gone down doesn't mean that AO-7 is off. I am
Nth of Sydney and I heard the beacon/transponder for the whole pass 3 hours
after sunset. So give it go.

Also has anyone tried the new version of SatPC32? I have it controlling 2
radios for AO-40 and it works ok but when I use it to control one radio
(IC-910), it doesn't switch to the right sideband on the main, stays only on
the sub (i.e. doesn't change the freq on the main) and then both freqs jump
up about 5 MHz. Very strange. In the config I have selected radio type
as "other" so I can use the main band as uplink to AO-40.

PS Thanks to the guys on the list that suggested I should go to the new
aerospace wing at Dulles whilst I was in MD for xmas. It was great. Too
bad most of DC went on the same day I did! And its also a shame no one
wanted to talk to me on the local repeaters. I guess the VK call throws
people a bit when they hear it. But I am back in July so I'll try again
then.
