I've worked NO-44 for the last couple months and NO-45 for the first time
earlier this week, both APRS.
I made my first satellite voice contact on AO-27 this evening. Before
starting my commute home I setup my radio. I didn't hear anything at
first, then turned down the squelch and I heard voices. I jumped in a few
moments later and exchanged call signs and grid locations.
I did the above mobile with 2 meter 1/4 wave antenna while driving home. A
contact with one person from Arizona and the other near San Francisco, I
was in Thousand Oaks, CA (LA area).
I have an Arrow antenna on the way and I'm anxious for more. I have very
little time for the hobby so anything I can do to/from work (or during
lunch) is lots of fun
